The Hunger Games: Tribute Guide is the first of the official tie-in books to The Hunger Games film.[1] Written by Emily Seife, it was announced by Scholastic on November 3, 2011 and released on February 7, 2012, six weeks before the film release on March 23, 2012.

The Tribute Guide mainly covers what tributes undergo before entering the arena, but also shines a clear spotlight on Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark. It features portraits of all the tributes, an overview of the districts, and includes many filming photos that do not appear in the trailers or in other promotions
